IVRI LIDER is one of the most successful rock artists in Israel today, a singer-songwriter whose lyrics speak to and about his generation. Winner of the “Male Singer of the Year” title on all major national and local radio stations in Israel, and with five albums on the market, as well as a DVD/CD – Ivri has enjoyed rave reviews from the media and the public, and his songs receive continuous radio airplay. In 2008 he released his fifth studio album, In simultaneous Rhythm, With Body Motions.
As a performer, Ivri plays to packed venues – ranging from rock concerts to amphitheatres and concert halls to clubs, where he performs “dance versions” of many of his biggest hits. His show was awarded “Best Live show”. Ivri has been listed as Time Out Tel Aviv’s "200 Coolest People" and in 2009 was proclaimed by them as one of 10 people who have had the most significant impact on the Israeli music industry.
Ivri is also a proficient musician and composer who has written music to Ohad Naharrin’s choreography for the Bat Sheva Ballet and for the Netherlands Dance Theatre in Amsterdam, as well as for two highly acclaimed films –Yossi and Jagger and Walk on Water which won him the Israeli Film Academy Award. Ivri also contributed to the soundtrack of the film, The Bubble, in which Ivri makes a heartwarming cameo appearance with his rendition of the Gershwin classic, “The Man I Love”.
Ivri also made "The Most Beautiful People" list on the Hip List of Israel's "People" magazine. The openly gay Lider’s song, "Jesse," was the only non-American song selected to appear on Sony Music's first GLBT compilation. The video for "Jesse" has received widespread buzz in the blogosphere and on YouTube, and was pronounced as “Just Gorgeous” on popular blogger Perez Hilton’s blog. Ivri was named to OUT Magazine's list of the “100 Most Important Gay Icons” in the world for 2007.
