Almand Martin

Almand has been a member of Keshet Chaim since 2024. In the 3rd grade musical videos by Britney Spears and Michael Jackson fueled Almand Martin Jr’s love for dance. At a time where he felt alone, dance found him, welcomed him and demonstrated a love that he wasn’t used to, but a love he refused to let go of. In high school he began training at the Detroit School of Performing Arts learning skills in Ballet, Liturgical, Horton, Graham, Dunham, and West African Dance. During that time he was blessed enough to have opportunities such as doing a season with Heritage Works Dance Ensemble, being the Motown Nutcracker, and playing Tyrone Jackson in Fame which generated his love of Broadway and musical theater. As a family man he values his support system to a great deal. Therefore leaving his family in 2019 to move to LA and attend college at AMDA was a very hard decision, but training at AMDA allowed Almand to improve his technique while finding his individuality. Now he’s the flirty, enthusiastic guy who just wants to see everyone smile, Outside of dance Almand also has a love for writing. He began writing poetry around age 8 and has won several spoken word competitions during his junior and senior year of high school. Almand believes that writing poetry gives him a different view of emotions that helps with his dancing. He hopes to share his poetry with the world through his up and coming book. Now since graduating college Almand has performed in regional theater shows around LA such as Ragtime with 5 Star Theatricals and Footloose at the Colony Theater. He also performed in Omar with the Los Angeles Opera Company and danced on Virgin Voyages Cruiseline. He is beyond excited to begin this new journey of dancing with Keshet Chaim
