Keshet Chaim has been serving the community with its educational projects since 1995. Programming takes place in the public and private school systems, community centers, temples, churches and diverse events. We have served thousands of children in the LAUSD public schools since 1995. It is wonderful to introduce diverse groups of students to the richness of Israeli culture. The Keshet teaching staff, under the direction of Cecilia Hanono, has developed a highly acclaimed program and school curriculum. Students in public schools of all backgrounds are introduced to the beautiful culture, music and dance of Israel, creating for many of them their first positive experience about Israel. Our outreach campaign to Jewish schools has been highly successful. We developed a training program for Israeli folk dance instructors, under the direction and guidance of Ruth Goodman from the Israeli Dance Institute in New York. Our pool of professional teaching artists is ready to provide a unique service with an outstanding curriculum. Our master teachers are exuberant and joyful, and pass on their love of Israeli dance and culture.
Keshet Chaim has used its Israeli Dance Program as a tool to connect with the inter-faith communities. This outreach has taken place during the years through adult workshops, and also working with church choirs and non-denominational choirs, which in turn have brought their communities to be audience members. The company has participated in and produced many concerts collaborating with inter-faith communities. Our programs are built to be adjusted to each group’s specific goals and restraints. Various age groups, levels of dance experience, and scheduling frequencies can all be accommodated.
